VILLA IN VERONA - INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FIRST PRIZE Il Concept di progetto si fonda sull'intenzione di considerare un unico spazio l'interno e l'esterno. La continuità tra i due ambienti è conferita dalla particolare forma delle membrature opache della casa. L'idea è quella di un Origami, un foglio piegato su se stesso che "mostra la schiena" verso nord ed ovest e si apre completamente verso sud ed est. In tal modo, lo spazio living si estende nella porzione più ampia del parco e il giardino antistante media l'ingresso all'abitazione. Il layout rispetto alla forma del lotto e all'area costruibile è stato organizzato traslando i volumi a ridosso dell'angolo nord ovest, così da massimizzare l'estensione delle aree verdi verso i pregiati orientamenti di sud ed est. La disposizione interna delle aree funzionali rispecchia i dettami del "Feng Shui", antica arte orientale che consente di ottenere il massimo beneficio energetico dagli spazi abitati.
The project concept is based on the will to consider a inside and outside space as a whole. The continuity between the two environments is conferred by the particular shape of the opaque skin of the house. The idea is inspired to an Origami, a sheet folded on itself that "shows the back" to the north and west and opens completely to the south and east. In this way, the living space extends into the wider portion of the park and the garden in front of the house entrance. The siteplan layout composed in to the shape of the plot was organized by translating the volumes close to the northwest corner, so as to maximize the extension of the green areas towards the fine orientations of the south and east. The internal arrangement of the functional areas reflects the dictates of "Feng Shui", an ancient oriental art that allows to obtain the maximum energy benefit from inhabited spaces.
